5 pieces of advice/quotes that I love
1) Don’t allow the immediate to crowd out the important – Michele Jackson
2) Procrastination and Overdoing are two ends of the same chain. Both are ways to avoid living your life – Ursula C. LeGuinn
3) Don’t reward bad behavior – Sarah Tracy
4) People who think they are misunderstood just don't want to accept who they really are - Assassination of a High School President (movie)
5) Whenever someone says, 'I'm not book smart, but I'm street smart' all I hear is, 'I'm not real smart, but I'm imaginary smart' - Domonique Foxworth
5 Pet Peeves -- These are (by definition) stupid, petty little things that annoy me. Obviously there are more horrible things in the world to be upset about.
1) Talking during a film shown in the movie theater. This is a cardinal sin. However, it's okay to talk when you're watching at home b/c you can rewind and aren't bothering others.
2) People who say "revert back" b/c it's redundant. If you "revert" to something, you go "back". Like I said...this is a fairly petty list.
3) Cars with "baby on board" signs. I don't know what am I supposed to do with this information. I WAS going to hit you, but now I won't???
4) People who tape/glue a bow on the bald head of their baby to show the world it's a girl. I just think it's creepy to tape things to a baby.
5) People who throw cigarettes out of their cars or on the ground. It's littering, it's gross, and it's a fire hazard.
5 every-day items I can’t (or don’t want to) live without
1) Sennheiser noise cancelling headphones – I don't go anywhere without them (work, coffee house, plane trips, visiting the family, etc). If nothing else, wearing these headphones keeps the crazy people on the bus from talking to you – or at least you can’t hear them if they do.
2) The Loc8tor (electronic tracking system) - A nifty handheld device (the size of a credit card) I can use to find my keys, a wayward cat, or anything else with a "loc8tor" RFD tag attached to it.
3) Downy wrinkle releaser – It certainly doesn’t substitute for an iron, but at least you don't look like you're wearing the same clothes you slept in the night before -- even if that may be the case J.
4) Individual lens wipes packets – Anyone who wears glasses knows the mini attitudinal “pick-me-up” that comes from ripping off your frames (often after staring at a computer screen for a few frustrating hours) and cleaning your lenses.
5) watchseries.eu - Amazing inventory of current and vintage TV shows. I already pay for cable and would be happy to use the networks' own websites with commercials. However the tv stations' online systems have TONS of bugs. THUS, I use my own standard of ethics -- only watching show I could watch on my own cable system, no movies, no shows from pay stations. etc. Watchseries.eu is an amazingly stable system and should be a model for the networks!! Love it!
